- Great Liceu Theatre, also known as El Liceo, is located on La Rambla. It was built in 1847 and is the oldest theater in the city that is still active. This theater is considered one of the most important in the world and a reference as opera theater.
The National Theater of Catalonia, also known as TNC, was made in a postmodern-neoclassical style, and was built in 1996 by the Generalitat of Catalunya.

Museums of Barcelona

- Maritime Museum of Barcelona: It is located in the Royal Atarazanasbuilding, and was created in the XIII Century for the construction of boats.
MACBA: Located in El Raval, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona -or MACBA- is dedicated to the art of the second half of the 20th Century. It was inaugurated in 1995.
Picasso Museum: Museum dedicated to the painter Pablo Ruíz Picasso. In this place you can enjoy the most complete collection in the world, with 4249 works of the author. Picasso Museum is located on Calle Montcada and it opened its doors for the first time to the public in 1963.
MNAC: This is the National Museum of Art of Catalonia. Although it was inaugurated in 1934, the current museum was not considered as such until 1990, when the collections of the Museum of Modern Art of 1945 and the Museum of Art of Catalonia in 1934, were fused. The MNAC stands out for its collection of Romantic Art works, considered one of the most complete collection in the world.
